Radiological Technologist/X-Ray
Location: Warren General Hospital
Type: Full-time, Part-time or Casual
Pay Rate: $25.71 to $29.41 per hour
JOB DUTIES:
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Ensure patient care, safety and comfort during exam. Complete necessary paperwork for image interpretation and reporting results, communicate concerns with the radiologists, providers or radiology director
Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety. Understand the basic principle of radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis. Make proper image exposure and check for adequate penetration, positioning, etc. (Equipment includes but is not limited to, portables, Cysto, C-Arm, DEXA, Operating Room and ECC Trauma Room)
Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
Possesses adequate knowledge of sterile technique to do operating room and interventional procedures.
Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions appropriately to Manager or Director.
Perform related administrative duties including completing necessary forms and paper work pertaining to examinations; charge for procedure and supplies; input related data in Hospital Information System.
Patient transport as necessary.
Perform and maintain competency as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
WORK/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High school education or equivalent
Graduation from an approved two-year (or more) school of Radiologic Technology
Current Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or, for new graduates, registry eligible
Current BLS (CPR) training
Basic computer skills
